Ever wished you could track down your dogs behavior when you are not around to watch them? The 2016 animated movie called ‘The Secret Life of Pets’, nevertheless, meets that question in a way that can be as fluffy and warm as possible. Illumination Entertainment’s animated film shows the audiences how wild, as well as amazing, and at times preposterous, the lives of the animals are.

The main character of the story is Max, a wonderful terrier, who lives in a comfortable New York apartment with his mistress, Katie. Max is happy until he encounters his new threat in the form of a new puppy named Duke owned by Katie. Definitely, Max’s worst nightmare would be your sister bringing home a new monster of a roommate! Each of the dogs had a tough beginning as Duke was so big, full-haired Newfoundland dog with a severe temper and as for his breeds’ character, Duke was definitely rude.

This interesting plot is developed when Max and Duke get lost in the busy streets of New York city. They enter a lot of strange animals while walking through the town; there I met Kevin Hart, who voiced Snowball, the theater rabbit. A group of animals that consist of dogs living on the street with Snowball are planning to overthrow people. You read correctly: it’s quite surprising that the leader of the rebellion is a rabbit.

One of the best elements that are captured in the Secret Life of Pets is that sadness and humor can be combined successfully. Many scenes will elicit laughter; for instance, when Gidget, a tiny Pomeranian, scores a role of an action hero to rescue Max. Of course, there are also emotionally positive scenes, for example, when Duke tells the story about himself, proving that even such a giant, muscles-looking dog can be sensitive.

In the end, the two excited cars, Max and Duke get to appreciate the value of friendship and working together since even with difference in their individual characters, they stand tall and cannot be defeated when working as a team. This lovely movie is fantastic in illustrating to the audience just how much our pets care for us and how far they would go for us even when we are no longer around to see.

So yes, The Secret Life of Pets is worth the watch if you are in the mood for a funny, light-hearted, family film that would make one wonder about the lives one’s dogs lead once they are left at home.
